Krushnachuda Flower (ଓଡ଼ିଆ: କୃଷ୍ଣଚୂଡ଼ା), whose English name is Flamboyant or Royal Poinciana, the botanical name is Delonix Regia and in Hindi, it is called as Gulmohar.

The Krushnachuda tree is most commonly found in India. This plant belongs to the Fabaceae family. Royal Poinciana’s flowers look very attractive and different from all the trees in the forest. Flowers come on this tree in summer, this season is from the month of April to June.

Its name in Sanskrit is ‘Raj-Abharan’, which means a tree decorated with royal ornaments. The crown of the idol of Lord Krishna is adorned with the flowers of Gulmohar. That is why this tree is also called ‘Krishna Chud’ in Sanskrit. Apart from India, this tree is found abundantly in Uganda, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Australia, Florida, and Brazil.
